Experience the Chattanooga River Games

Get ready to enjoy extreme sports like never before! The Chattanooga River Games are bringing high-energy excitement to town Friday through Sunday, August 15-17, 2025. Watch the pros compete in daredevil competitions on the river while you enjoy live music in a festival atmosphere.

When we say “extreme sports,” we’re not kidding. Professional rock climbers will start at the bottom of the arch under the Market Street Bridge and make their way to the top – unless they fall into the river before they reach it!

Freestyle high divers will jump off a 60-foot tower into the river, doing flips and acrobatics on the way down. See highliners walk and do tricks on a 1” wide slackline suspended over the river. Get an up-close look at wake surfers as they compete in the ChattaWake competition at the riverfront downtown.

International extreme sports athletes will compete in these events, but the fun isn’t only for them. Members of the public can take part in lower-key activities and sports, like the skate ramp jam. This event invites you to skate, bike or skateboard off a ramp into the river.

More opportunities for public participation will be set up around town. Test your balance at the slackline park with Outdoor Chattanooga, visit the ACON Trampolines Action Zone, or climb a bouldering wall. Kids can build terrariums or moss frames as part of the event’s mission to promote environmental awareness. A vendor area and food trucks will round out the festival.
